Christian Stegle (Regional Director of APAC – Emoled) introduces Blue Light Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy and presente a summary of clinical evidence; Prof. Dr Harikrishna K.R. Nair (Wound Care Unit at hospital Kuala Lumpur; President Elect, Word Union of Wound Healing Societies) shares his preliminary experience on Asian patients with DFUs, and the BLESS (Blue Light Empirical Shine) pilot study, involving patients with “stalled” chronic wounds, treated for 4 weeks with Blue light in order to kick-start the healing process; Hayley Ryan (Director of WoundRescue Pty), describes the pathology of “difficult to heal” wounds and presents case studies of patients treated with Blue Light in addition to standard therapies. According to the Clinicians, “stalled”, difficult to heal wounds treated with Blue Light showed a progressive improvement of the wound bed and a reduction in size confirming Blue Light PBM as a promising therapeutic option for chronic wounds.
